Song of the day

The Go-Betweens - Spring Rain
from the album Liberty Bell & the Black Diamond Express

This is a nearly perfect pop song. The reason why I think it's the song of the day is that it's raining in Oslo today. Sadly enough the temperature hasn't risen to what I would qualify as spring yet, but we're talking April, that's spring nonetheless isn't it. Anyhow, just listen to the song. Beautiful, happy and sad, all at once. Perfection.

Song of the day

Eldkvarn - Fulla För Kärlekens Skull
from the album Svart Blogg (2007)

This song is the sound of heartbreak. But it's not only heartbreaking, in a special way it's also quite uplifting. Kind of the Swedish equivalent to Bruce Springsteen's The River. The feeling of the way my hair raises on my back and give me goosebumps when mr. Springsteen deliver the lines "Is a dream a lie if it don't come true, or is it something worse?" all comes back to me when I hear this song and especially these lines:

To those of you who don't understand swedish, I wish I could have translated it but I'm afraid I'll only ruin it. Sorry. To the rest of you, let's drink and celebrate that we all live and love.
