True love cast out all evil

Roky Erickson with Okkervil River

This really made my day. Looking forward to this album, and the best thing is to see that good ol' Roky seems to be in real great shape. So good to see.

Can you tell me why you have been so sad?

Death Cab For Cutie - Death of an Interior Decorator
from the album Transatlanticism (Barsuk, 2003)

A great song which I never thought much aboth until today when it suddenly stood out from the rest on the record. Funny how that is, take a record you have listened to alot in the past and put it on after some while. Suddenly you see the songs in a whole different way.

This song apparantly is based on the Woody Allen movie Interiors, which I haven't seen but will be checking out soon, much because of this song.

"You were the mother of three girls so sweet
Who stormed through your turnstile
And climbed to the street
But after conception your body lay cold
And withered through autumn and you found yourself old

Can you tell me why you have been so sad?
He took a lover on a faraway beach
While you arrange flowers and chose color schemes"

Left another record on..

Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson - Shampoo
from the album Break Up (Rhino, 2009)

Just thought I should post this great video of this great song. You can say whatever you want about Scarlett Johansson's musical career, but I really think this album that Pete Yorn made with her is a really good one. She may have bit off a little more than she could chew with her debut of Tom Waits cover songs but on this album she really holds her own. Her voice works great along Pete Yorn's and this is one of the better albums that he has made since his debut Musicforthemorningafter.

"So we rise
Off to make another run of it
To pass the time we say goodbye
Here we are enclosed
Wake me up and ready to go
Oh the sun's out tonight

(Run away)
Last thing I remember
(Run away)
Things were getting better
(Run away)
Last thing I remember, things were getting better
I'd go anywhere with you"
