This has been on heavy rotation at the Heartworn Higways headquarters lately. First just this brilliant catchy pop song, but lately the whole album. Chaz Bundick is perhaps better known as Toro Y Moi, but here he goes under his own name and collaborates with the jazz-rock-twins The Mattson 2. The result is a bit like Shuggie Otis' fantastic album Inspiration Information, a bit like the legendary Hansson & Karlsson and bit like an unreleased The Beatles jam-session from 1968 which Kevin Parker of Tame Impala wishes he could have been a part of. Something like that. Groovy stuff indeed, and I just love the bass sound of that Hofner bass.
