Innlandet Hestejazz Society | Moonshine Blends Vol. 16

We are always a bit sepia-toned at Innlandet Hestejazz HQ, but it is something about the fall. Every year when the leaves start to change color I get drawn into this musical bubble that is centered around The Band and that whole idea of the rural Upstate New York living. It's probably something to do with my own upbringing in the Norwegian countryside. It's pretty rural, I can tell you.

So this edition of the Moonshine Blends is best described as a fall-mix. Like a sunny autumn day walking among the trees. Interesting enough it's also a mix where the accordion turns up to make an appearance. Not only once, but twice. The odds are high about that ever happening again.

So tune in for some laid back county-funk picking and put your sepia-toned glasses on..

Innlandet Hestejazz Society is a moniker that my good friend David Jønsson and me use when we are dj'ing around Oslo. Though to call it dj'ing might be an overstatement, we play records and have a good time. As crate diggers and heads we were drawn to the country-rock and the flying freak flags when we met behind the counter of a record store many years ago. Moonshine Blends are mixes of tunes we would have played in bars, but since we are confined to our own living rooms we are putting them up on the net for everyones pleasure. So tune in for some vibey west coast, hillbilly hobnobs, no-depression and blue collar country. Jerry Garcia, Johnny Paycheck and Jeff Tweedy hand in hand. Keep on truckin'!
