Innlandet Hestejazz Society | Soft Focus | Moonshine Blends vol. 20

It's that time of year. The endless nights. The perfect sunsets. That time of year when even Oslo, Norway feels a tiny bit like California, with its hazy sundazed light. It's soft focus time. We've got the sailboat-crew, the heartbreakers, the movers the shakers.

As always when we make our Soft Focus editions we look to the Byrds-alumni. From the magical recently unearthed CSNY version of Croz's The Lee Shore via Chris Hillman (who are everywhere. What a guy) to that ever smiling Michael Clarke behind the drums with both the Burritos and Firefall. Look up the cover-stars of the earlier editions and you'll find them all on this mix. Yes, even that L.A. Babe himself (though he's hiding). And what about that Pearl Charles? One of our definitive favourites this year.

So slow down, take it easy.

Till next time,
Stian

Innlandet Hestejazz Society is a moniker that my good friend David Jønsson and me use when we are dj'ing around Oslo. Though to call it dj'ing might be an overstatement, we play records and have a good time. As crate diggers and heads we were drawn to the country-rock and the flying freak flags when we met behind the counter of a record store many years ago. Moonshine Blends are mixes of tunes we would have played in bars, but since we are confined to our own living rooms we are putting them up on the net for everyones pleasure. So tune in for some vibey west coast, hillbilly hobnobs, no-depression and blue collar country. Jerry Garcia, Johnny Paycheck and Jeff Tweedy hand in hand. Keep on truckin'!
